1AUTHOR is a Branded Product Development Program for busy consulting and coaching professionals who are willing to make a reasonable investment of time, energy and money to promote their expertise. Inspired by dozens of successfully published authors who told us what worked and what didn’t as they struggled to bring their first book to market, our process is designed to help you organize and download your thoughts, ideas and concepts into a well written manuscript that supports your personal brand.
Because everyone’s needs are different, we offer three separate "tracks" of the same 3-step process. Track 1 is for busy professionals who know you think better when speaking than when writing. You prefer to pay other professionals to provide expert support while you focus on doing what you do best. Track 2 is for busy professionals who know you think best when typing or writing. You also prefer to pay other professionals to provide expert support while you focus on doing what you do best. Track 3 is for people whose businesses are still in start-up mode. You want access to our resources, guidance and accountability to help propel you forward and write your book, but you’ve got the time to invest in doing much of the legwork yourself.
How the 1AUTHOR Process Works

STAGE I: You can enter either at the beginning of this stage, or down the path a bit. For example, if you already have your book outline prepared, you can skip Step 1, and begin writing your chapters in Step 2.

Step 1: Writing Your Book Outline

Step 1: Track 1
You'll be asked to answer a
series of questions via a tele-phone interview. We'll transcribe the conversation, develop your outline and send it to you for review. In a second tele-coaching session we will work together to finalize your outline.

You will get:
- Two recorded 50-minute
book-coaching tele-sessions.
- A written transcript of each session.
- A completed written book outline

PRICING: $750

Step 1: Track 2
You'll be asked to answer a series of written questions. We'll use your answers to develop your outline and send it to you for review. After you return your comments to us, we'll finalize
your outline and send it to you.

You will get:
- A detailed book outline development questionnaire
- 120-minutes of editorial and writing support in developing your completed book outline.

PRICING: $500

Step 1: Track 3
You'll be e-mailed a series of written questions, a sample book outline and template. After using these to formulate your book outline draft, e-mail it to us and
we will e-mail you suggestion and changes for your final outline.

You will get:
- A detailed book outline development questionnaire, sample outline and template.
- 60 minutes of editorial and writing support.

PRICING: $300

Step 2: Writing Your Book Content

Step 2: Track 1
Every other week, you will spend an hour on the phone with your book coach, discussing a chapter of your book. Your conversations will be recorded, transcribed and e-mailed to you for review. After making your edits, you will e-mail each chapter to your book coach who will smooth out your edits and make additional changes. Each chapter will go back and forth up to three times until it is completely polished.

Each month you will get:
- Two recorded 50-minute
book-coaching tele-sessions.
- Written session transcripts.
- 120-minutes of editorial and writing support
- Up to 60-minutes of book coaching support by e-mail.

PRICING: $1,200/month

Step 2: Track 2
Using your book outline, you'll write a chapter of your book in rough draft form. Once the chapter is written, you will e-mail it to your book coach for review. Your coach will make edits and corrections and send it back to you by e-mail. After you make additional edits and change suggestions, you will send it back to your book coach again. Each chapter will go back and forth up to three times until it is "letter perfect."

Each month you will get:
- 240-minutes of editorial
and writing support.
- Up to 60-minutes of book coaching support by e-mail.

PRICING: $900/month

Step 2: Track 3
Using your book outline, you'll write a chapter of your book and then edit it to the best of your ability. Once the chapter is written and edited to your satisfaction, you will e-mail it to your book coach who will smooth out your copy, making one set of edits and additional change suggestions. Within two weeks of receiving it, your book coach will have e-mailed your finalized chapter back to you.

Each month you will get:
- 180-minutes of editorial
and writing support.
- Up to 30-minutes of book coaching support by e-mail.

PRICING: $500/month

Step 3: Editing Support

Step 3: Tracks 1, 2 and 3
When all of the chapters are completed, you will be given the opportunity to make a global edit of the entire book, after which your book coach will comment on and/or improve the final product with one last edit. Your book will also be proofread at this point for typographical and grammatical errors, according to the version of English in which you wish to publish. (Such as British, US, Canadian or Australian English)

When you have completed Stage 1 and your manuscript is complete, edited and polished, you may choose to continue to work with us in Stage 2 or to complete your book production on your own.

The cliché, "You can't judge a book by it's cover" IS a cliché because most people DO judge a book by its cover. When you publish via "traditional" publishing, you don't get any say in the cover design. Marketing experts create it for you. Chances are that you are NOT a marketing expert. Yet, when you self-publish, you're burdened with making marketing decisions and directing an artist, something most new authors have never done before. Our marketing experts will work with the best artist for your project to create a branded cover and page layout format that appeal directly to your target audience. Not only will this approach save you a lot of time and headaches, it will help you produce a better product that drive sales by attracting the attention of those who really want and need your expertise.

Pricing for all 3 Steps: Tracks 1 & 2: $2,750, Track 3: $1,750

In Stage 3 we help you develop and build the marketing and publicity engines you'll need to keep your book up front and center with the people who need to know about it. We'll help you construct a promotional website that attracts the right readers and sells your book 24/7, generating passive revenue streams while you work, sleep or play!

Step 3. Finding "Your" Agent (Pricing will be quoted individually)

You can step out of our Stages and come back at any time, as we operate on a "pay as you go" system. However, once you step out, you may have to wait for a preferred time slot to open up, and there will be reactivation fees if you step out before the completion of a Stage to cover the time your book coach will need to invest in reviewing your materials before moving forward again.
